Sage is a moderate length starting hole. Described as not terribly difficult, it is a "warm up" hole. "This first hole is to set the golfers mind straight and let them have a feel for the character of the course," said course co-designer Garrett Gill. One bunker guards the right half of the green. The hole plays relatively level and straight away.
