Maple sets the golfer up for many of the future holes. It plays towards the east and is not an easy hole. A mid to long length par 3, it plays 205 from the longest tee and 135 from the most forward tee. It has a fairly large breadth of teeing choices with the majority play between 170 and 195 yards. It requires slight downhill play. The majority of shots will have to cross a large bunker on the right front of the green. Three-fourths of the pin position is protected by the bunker. A fair amount of bunker play is anticipated. The risk shot is to be a hero hitting over the bunker. There is a lot of depth to the green to hold the shot.
